ABSTRACT
ARTICLE INFO
The development of international accounting standards and their general acceptance around the world have greatly contributed to the
harmonization of financial reporting at the global level. However, a comparative analysis of professional regulations regarding interim financial
reporting between the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and ten Southeast European countries has shown that certain
differences still exist, especially between the United States, which applies US generally accepted accounting standards and European
continent. The reasons for these differences could be in the traditional orientation of the accounting system itself, but also the fact that
each country has its own specifics, which has an impact on the accounting profession.
Keywords: interim financial reporting, international accounting standards, IAS 34, ASC 270, harmonization of professional regulations.
