ABSTRACT
ARTICLE INFO
The subject of the paper is a financial analysis of the brewing industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Financial indicators from the group of
liquidity, profitability and efficiency were analyzed.
The brewing industry contributes 0.8% to the global gross domestic product. The beer market in Bosnia and Herzegovina consists of
six breweries and three authorized distributors of world-famous beer brands. Beer sales in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2024 amounted
to 147.7 million liters of beer. For the purposes of the subject research, a sample consisting of five brewing companies operating in the
territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina was formed. Of those five brewing companies, four are domestic companies, while one is a foreign
company that does not have direct production in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but distributes domestic beer on the market of Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
The results of the research show that the brewing industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina managed to maintain liquidity in the analyzed period,
thanks to the prolongation of the average period of payment of obligations to suppliers, and the shortening of the average period of
collection of receivables from customers. Income per employee increased in 2023 as a result of the reduction in the number of employees
in the brewing industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time earning less income from sales. A slight increase in solvency
risk was recorded, in terms of maintaining long-term liquidity, as a result of the increase in borrowed funding sources.
